Life Legacy


Loyal Ressler, age 81, of 24715 CR 48, Nappanee, died at 4:00 am, Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at his home.


He was born April 18, 1929 in Nappanee to Levi and Grace Berkey Ressler. On July 29, 1948, he married Norma Jean Welty in Nappanee. Mr. Ressler was a lifelong farmer. He was also a tinsel painter, which is displayed in the Library of Congress in Washington DC. He was a member of South Union Fellowship.


He is survived by his wife Norma Jean, nieces and nephews, and brothers, Delbert Ressler, Arcade, NY, Olin Ressler, Queens Creek, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Vera Wakley and Edith Homes, and a brother, Dale Ressler Sr.


Friends may call 2-8, Saturday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee and for 1 hour prior to the funeral service which will be at 2:00 pm Sunday at Salem Mennonite Church. Rev. Harry Schrock from South Union Fellowship will officiate and burial will be Salem Cemetery.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christian Aid ministries or Goshen Care at Home Hospice.
