Life Legacy
Phyllis J. (Trowbridge-Quillen) Huff, age 84, Nappanee, died Friday, October 14, at 4:28 a.m. at Bremen Healthcare Center.
She was born on August 8, 1927, in Tippecanoe, to James and Katherine Perry Trowbridge. She was a 1946 graduate of Bourbon High School. She was a homemaker, and loved her family very much. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, and singing. She was musically gifted, and could play the organ, accordion, violin, and piano. Phyllis was a former member of the Eastern Star, where she also played piano for events. She married Devoe Huff, on April 19, 1980, at Mt. Tabor Church in Nappanee.
He survives, along with two sons, Michael Quillen, Fort Wayne, and Arthur (Jan) Quillen, Wheatfield, IN; three granddaughters; two sisters, Norma (Ray) Hite, Plymouth, and LouDell Bollinger, Fredericksburg, IN. She was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers.
Friends and family may call Sunday, Oct. 16, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, and one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. service on Monday, also at the funeral home. Pastor Jan McFall-Brown will lead the service. Burial will be at Bremen Cemetery.
