Life Legacy


Roberta B. Reprogle, 100, died after a brief illness Friday, April 30, 2010, at 8:10 p.m. at LuAnn Nursing Home, where she had lived the past 10 years.


She was born Feb. 10 , 1910, in Elkhart County near Nappanee, to Charles and Carrie (Brown) Wysong. She was raised on the family farm and graduated from Nappanee High School. She was a lifetime area resident.


A homemaker and a farm wife, she worked as an Avon representative for many years. She was a member of the Nappanee Church of the Brethren and the Ever-Ready Club. She enjoyed crocheting and crossword puzzle and was an avid Notre Dame fan. She married Charles A. Reprogle Dec. 2, 1932, in Angola. He preceded her in death Sept. 23, 1970.


She is survived by her son, Richard Dean (Josephine) Reprogle, Kokomo; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Arlene (Charles) Holderman, Nappanee. She was preceded in death by her daughters, Mary Lou Hochstetler and Sue Ann Drake; a sister, Carol Slabaugh; and brothers, Jay and Cleo Wysong.


The body will lie in state Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, where the funeral service will take place Thursday at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Byrl Shaver will officiate. Burial will be in Stony Point Cemetery.


Memorials may be made to the Nappanee Church of the Brethren or Southern Hospice Care.
